Growning with intention.
Cape Floyd is a small regenerative farm nestled along the banks of the Little River, a winding waterway that originates in Floyd County, Virginia and flows into the New River—the oldest river in North America. Just like the land and water that shape it, our farm is deeply connected to time, place, and purpose. At the heart of Cape Floyd is a belief: healthy soil grows more than food—it grows community, resilience, and beauty. We embrace holistic management practices, using a mix of organic, regenerative, and biodynamic practices to grow heritage grains and specialty crops. In any given season, our fields and forests may include Himalayan Buckwheat, Jimmy Red or Wapsie Valley corn, Red Fife Wheat, other grains, ramps and ginseng. We embrace rotational grazing to help manage a new silvopasture/permaculture food forest project. The name Cape Floyd honors this land’s wild edge—where grain fields meet forest and the river bends just right. It's also a promise: to stay rooted, to grow with care, and to eventually offer food that reflects the place it came from.
